About the Series
The story is set in a far future where the Earth has been ravaged by six meteor impacts, creating a barren, frozen landscape. From the remaining lifeforms, crystalline humanoid beings known as the Gems emerge. The Gems are immortal but must constantly defend themselves from the Moon People (Tsukijin), mysterious beings who attack them to use their bodies for decorations.
The narrative follows Phosphophyllite (Phos), the youngest and most fragile Gem, who is tasked with creating a natural history encyclopedia of their world. Phos begins a journey of profound transformation, both physically and mentally, undergoing immense changes that challenge the very nature of identity and purpose. The series is celebrated for its complex characters, stunning action sequences, and meditative exploration of loss, duty, and evolution.
Whether you are a seasoned collector looking to complete your set or a newcomer eager to experience one of the most visually inventive manga of the 21st century, this collection of volumes provides the essential core arc of Phos’s incredible journey.
